High Energy Physics (HEP)
The HEP group at IISER Kolkata is engaged in a wide range of cutting-edge research activities aimed at deepening our understanding of the fundamental interactions of elementary particles. The primary topics of interest of the group members include SM and BSM phenomenology, dark matter, collider physics, jet physics, flavour physics, etc. The group is involved in developing and improving computational tools and software related to collider detector simulations, machine learning, jets and jet substructure techniques. The members are also actively involved in interdisciplinary collaborations with mathematical physics, quantum information, and quantum computation. It regularly organizes inter-institute workshops, collaborative meetings, and lecture series to foster knowledge exchange and promote broader interests within the scientific community.
