Seminar & Colloquium:
The department organizes seminar and colloquium activities throughout the year. The invited talks are usually planned during the semester time with breaks in the Winter and in the Summer. The talks are of the following categories:
- Departmental Colloquium: Usually on the first Wednesday of every month
- Technical Seminars: Usually on Wednesdays (On Tuesday/Thursday, if slots are not available)
- Gluon Talks: Coordinated independently by the students
- Yearly Bibha Choudhuri Memorial Lecture
How to approach to present a seminar?
If you are interested to present a seminar, please get in touch with someone from the department who has research overlaps with yours and also agrees to host you. The departmental member will coordinate further. We will usually arrange local hospitalities including a necessary stay on campus. In certain cases, we also cover air/train travel support from outside Kolkata.
Call for Submissions: Physics Talks
We are excited to invite students, post-docs, and faculty members from the physics community to submit proposals for talks organized by Gluon, the journal club of the Department of Physics. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your knowledge and research with peers and contribute to the collective learning experience.
