Research areas

  • Quantum Chaos, Nonequilibrium dynamics, Thermalization, Random Matrix Theory

We study the statistical properties of energy levels and states of different model Hamiltonians and physical systems. From the energy levels, we identify the integrable-chaos transition by studying short-range correlations. Also from the long-range energy correlations we identify critical energy scales, e.g. Thouless energy, Heisenberg energy. For the energy states, we identify the critical points where localization-delocalization transition happens and ergodicity breaks down and quantify the scaling of relevant fluctuations. We also study thermalization and dynamical aspects of a quantum mechanical system.
